this being human
is an absurd joke sometimes
and yet so sacred

you said your ego
gets you up in the morning
and now I get it

we are both stubborn
in our experiences
bless our hearts and souls

there will never be

that's a simple fact

in holding complexity
beyond black and white

bless your defenses
all the twisting and turning
to try to stay safe

hundreds of emails
full of sweet and loving words
left in history

beautiful creature
