I always did like
curiously picking scabs
but now I leave them

when the next loves come
they surely won't be the same
all can coexist

it's amazing how
the blaze sizzled and fizzled
to a soft warm glow

of course it's with you
I learned some greatest lessons
of both light and dark

heart, body, and soul
I fully opened to you
now adjustment calls

back and forth I go
hardening then softening
understandably

at last a new soul
with whom I can deeply vibe
while our love remains

it's incredible
how the love I shared with you
feeds into new love
