first you adored me
then you took me for granted
and I slipped away

how much was there lost
in understanding via
online processing

about to review
we almost could have repaired
yet you retracted

when you cut me out
you severed a part of you
that is the true shame

I am sorry for
all the ways I subtly
hindered expression

no doubt we went deep
yet I wish we'd gone deeper
healing together

it is a shame that
